What to
expect during a massage session:
Your
privacy will be respected at all times. I will
leave the room and allow you some time to undress to the
level of your comfort and get situated on the massage
table under the clean sheets. I can cover you with
a warm blanket if you wish, and I have pillows and a
space heater available for your comfort. I offer a
choice of un-scented oil or lotion. Once the
massage starts, I will check in with you about pressure
and the temperature of the room, and please feel free to
communicate with me at any point during the massage if
you'd like more or less pressure, if you're too hot or
too cold, if you'd like me to spend longer on any
particular area, if anything feels painful, or about any
other need that you may have.
If you
have come to see me for a specific injury or issue,
please expect to spend a few minutes at the beginning of
the session doing a quick assessment of the muscles and
joints in that area. I'll take you through some
movements to determine which muscle groups I think we
should focus on to most effectively alleviate your pain
or discomfort. Of course, you know your body
better than I do, so please feel free to communicate
anything you know about your injury, or anything in
particular that you know works well for you.
I'm
comfortable working on people of all body-types and
genders. I am a non-smoker, and the massage space
is as scent-free as possible. |
